Hi Everyone

Well Welshpool festival is upon us again and i am so proud to be back at this prestigious event. This is my 41st year in showbusiness and 25 of those have been at Welshpool so i have some of my fondest memories here as well.I remember the very first festival at Buttington Cross Field in 1988,which i believe is now a trading estate, and i have a copy of the very first poster as well.In 1989 the Earl of Powis graciously offered us the showground and its been there ever since.I remember the very first festival, and it was a wet one, where we had the cars parked in a half moon formation in front of the stage because it was so wet and our applause were lights flashing and horns blowing.Another festival, one morning, while still eating breakfast,i was walking around with Claude Millington at 7am putting the tape up around the dance area because it had come down overnight or another when Foxy and myself were trying to fix the overflow running in the ladies toilets at 1.30am.Welshpool always has a place in my heart and all the westerners i have met over the years a lot of whom i call my friends now.A sentence i once heard in a movie on tv sums up the westerner, they are just a friend that you haven’t met yet.

Have a great weekendYour Friend
